We went on our first 2010 camp out with the 11 year old scouts. We went up to Suntop fire lookout station past Greenwater, Wa. off of fire road 73. It was a lot of fun! We set up camp just below the fire lookout right off the fire road in the forest. We had dinner and made a fire and then cleaned up, read a few scriptures and went to bed. In the morning we woke up and cooked a great breakfast of sausage mcmuffins with egg and cheese. We then headed up to the peak where the fire lookout is, above the clouds. (check out the pics)

The clouds were rising fast as we walked to the top Saturday morning. Within 30 minutes, they all burned off and we could see for 30+ miles in every direction. We hiked around the fire lookout for a bit and then drove back down and broke camp, and went down to white river and hiked along the white river on the Skookum Flats trail for an hour or so.
I think the boys had a good time, though we did learn not to feed them chilli of any kind (we had chilli cheese dogs for dinner). We'll just say, the night air was ...... less than fresh!
